Temporary States
Founded in August 2009 by Ella Levitt and Rebecca Pristoop
Temporary States is a contemporary art initiative devoted to revealing hidden potentials as curators, artists and viewers. Our creative practice is to push boundaries in society through challenging exhibition content and by questioning what constitutes an exhibition itself. Among our endeavors is to facilitate meaningful encounters in limbo spaces. We unabashedly play with sustainable financial models between traditional, non-profit institutions and bottom-line, profit driven galleries. The prospect of transcending these stagnant, social structures is exhilarating.
"Our projects are conceptual and are still in progress."
"We resist the need to delimit a fixed stable of artists and strive to maintain a dynamic and evolving network."
